The U.S. Department of Education has designated the University of Redlands as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), recognizing the institution’s ongoing commitment to serving Hispanic/Latinx Americans among the University’s student populations.
The University is eligible for U.S. Department of Education grants to expand educational opportunities for Hispanic/Latinx students; help increase the number of Hispanic/Latinx students attaining degrees in the STEM fields; and expand educational opportunities for students earning postsecondary degrees. See below for our current Title V Grant, "Proyecto Dirección".

Fondo Dirección is a program of mini-grants to support pilot projects and events organized by students. Eligible projects/events will support the main goal of our federal Title V grant for Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions, "Proyecto Dirección: Building Belonging and Latinx Success at the University of Redlands," to create a sense of belonging for Hispanic/Latinx students at the University of Redlands.
The retreat is funded through a federal Title V grant for Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions. It is one component of the grant proposal, "Proyecto Dirección: Building Belonging and Latinx Success at the University of Redlands," which also includes expansion of the STEP, Summer Bridge, First-Year Journeys, and Transfer Student Success programs; Fondo Dirección mini-grants for student organizations; and training opportunities for faculty.
